An Introduction to Digital Media Literacy and Sexual Health

Social media platforms can be impactful, effective, and fun ways to share information and knowledge to a wide audience. However, they have also become a perfect way for misinformation to spread quickly. Compiled with content restrictions, “trolls,” and other barriers, navigating the world wide web can feel daunting.

This workshop will dive into digital media literacy from a sexual health perspective, discuss developing your digital media “inner critic” to avoid misinformation, and review ways digital and social media can be harnessed to support sexual and reproductive health education.
