Sexual Attitude Reassessment (SAR)

Facilitated by specially trained leaders, ASPSH’s SAR provides an opportunity to explore and understand your own beliefs, attitudes, values and biases within the realm of sex and sexuality. This self-exploration and self understanding facilitates comfort that ultimately fosters improved communication skills, both on a professional and a personal level.

The next SAR will be offered May 29 & 30, 2024 at the University of Alberta in the 2 days prior to ASPSH’s biennial conference.

What to Expect at ASPSH’s SAR Training:

The Alberta Society for the Promotion of Sexual Health (ASPSH) is excited to offer an in person learning opportunity for anyone looking to challenge their understanding of sexuality.

Over two days (16 hours) you will be able to:

1. Identify your personal attitudes and beliefs about sexuality.

2. Examine the intersections of sexual identities and experiences.

3. Differentiate personal and professional responses to sexual topics.

4. Commit to using current inclusive and affirming language.

5. Assess and reassess your beliefs about sexuality in personal and professional roles.

Trained sexuality leaders look forward to guiding you through large and small group discussions and interactive activities.

ASPSH welcomes participation from any adult who has a desire to learn about sexuality as a whole and explore their own attitudes towards sexuality. During the 2-day SAR, participants are challenged to immerse themselves in an intensive learning opportunity. We endeavour to provide an inclusive, safe, experience that is mindful of giving participants many ways to actively engage as a learner.

Space is limited so sign up today.

This training is offered in conjunction with ASPSH’s 15th Biennial Conference on Sexual Health - “Embodying Sexual Health: Sexuality for all bodies” May 31 – June 1, 2024.
