ASPSH Statement regarding the Overturning of Roe v. Wade
The U.S. Supreme Court has overturned 50 years of federally protected right to abortion. Canada will, no doubt, feel the ripple effects of this and already anti-choice organizations are lobbying for an abortion law in Canada. ASPSH strongly supports Action Canada’s position that abortion must remain decriminalized and continue to be treated as a medical procedure governed within the Canada Health Act. Creating a law in Canada may open the doors to further restrictions. To ensure people have support to access abortions across Canada please click here to donate to Action Canada's Norma Scarborough fund.
