This workshop will examine key themes and issues around sexuality at end-of-life. We will explore theexperiences of different demographic groups based on various intersectional identities. We will alsoconsider the experiences of different caregiver groups (professional, volunteer and family), as well asinfluence of location of death. Barriers to inclusive care will be discussed.

A Startling Fact About Dying, Sexuality Matters

  • Jodi Swan (MSW, PgCSH, RSW) is a social worker, thanatologist and certified grief counselor. She has journeyed with individuals and families at end-of-life and provided ongoing support to families in their bereavement. She has served on the Board of Directors of Hospice PEI and the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association. Jodi is a proud member of the first cohort to complete the Post-Graduate Certificate in Sexual Health from the University of Alberta.
